Collect a full package of papers depending on the reasons for obtaining (work, study, family, etc.)
- Sign up online or go to Urząd Wojewódzki (Provincial Administration) in person.
- Sometimes the queue for submission may be weeks or months in advance.
- Submit documents to the office.
- Get a passport stamp (stempel) that extends your legal status until the end of the case.
- The standard is up to 90 days, but in practice it can take from 3 months to a year (sometimes longer).
- They may request additional documents - you must bring them within the specified time frame.
- If everything is okay, you get a positive decision.
- If something was missing or there were violations, they may refuse (you can appeal).
- After approval, you pay for making a card (about 50 zł).
- The card will be ready in 1 to 4 weeks.
- Come to the office and collect a plastic Karta Pobytu (TRC).
- Now you can legally live and work (or study) in Poland for a specified period of time.
